6 Proven Tips for New Year's Weight Loss in the Weight Loss Competition called Life
Proven Tips for New Year's Weight Loss
This month, millions have already created New Year's resolutions to lose weight and especially those holiday pounds that creep up from a multitude of delicious, yet calorie loaded goodies. ................

We've already started seeing the load of new television ads for weight loss products. Some of them are new products and many are ones we see each January. Then there are also the online ads, the magazines advertising the latest, greatest weight loss gadgets and diet plans. To say that the weight loss - fitness industry is a multi-million dollar market is an incredible understatement. But despite all this, most of us fail to lose the pounds permanently.

Stop! Put down those cookies...don't grab them just yet! Successful and healthy weight loss can be achieved. By creating a well thought out road map, you can guarantee that New Year's weight loss resolution becomes a proud success. First, stop reading those fables (articles) that promise huge weight loss for ridiculously short amounts of time. Yes, we all want to believe it, but we have to focus on the truth. Find sound advice and training on weigh loss from truly reputable sources. Reliable sources will offer clinically, scientifically proven sound advice. This advice is a far cry from the "miracle creams" and "magic diet pills". We do know that the best formulas for permanently losing weight is simple--not hard, but definitely simple; with a good plan you can lose weight and you can also keep it off.

Start now (yes right now) by finding a notepad and pen or start a journal on your computer. Create your successful plan right now. We'll provide you some proven methods for your successful weight loss road map:

1. Make Realistic Goals

Don't set yourself up to fail. Instead, set small, milestone goals. Don't be so lazy that you just set a single, big weight loss goal like "I wanna lose 30 pounds this month". Start small with an easy two pound goal per week. A good plan might include a weight loss goal of two pounds per week and aiming at a larger goal of losing 20 lbs in three months. Get detailed with your plan and your goals; if you’re promising yourself and your family that you’ll walk 30 min/day then put it on paper. Include these kind of details in your plan.

2. Get a weight loss buddy (Find them on weightlosswars if you don’t have one to start or invite them onto weightlosswars with you.

We all know that sticking to your weight loss goals is not only much easier but also much more fun when you make it a team gig. Because 9 out of 10 people seem to be trying to lose weight, your best friend at the office may also be trying to lose some pounds, too. Some people really like getting a friend to work out with them. This provides the extra support when you don’t feel like working out and you’re in danger of skipping an important fitness workout. It also gets you more accountability to keep you from giving up. One group of contestants on weightlosswars had a rule that each time one of them skipped a workout session they owed the group an extra $10 into the prize pot for the competition. As we’re sure you’ll guess, they didn’t miss too many workouts. Whatever the plan, make sure you set it up with clear, achievable goals so that you can avoid giving up. And whatever you do, make sure you get a buddy to lose with you. Be vocal and you’ll find those who want to join you. Pick someone who will push you, someone who you don’t want to let down, but make sure you don’t make it someone who you will feel badly working out with.

3. Don't just try to starve yourself

One of the biggest reasons for failures in weight loss is that people just try to eat so little that they starve their bodies. Pick healthy, balanced food groups in your meals with reasonable portions. You can try eating six smaller meals in the day instead of 3 big ones. Don’t forget that a serving of protein should be about the same amount of space as a deck of playing cards, carbohydrates such as brown rice should be about the space of a small computer mouse. A serving of vegetables should be anywhere from the size of a baseball to a softball. If you pick delicious vegetables, you can eat more of them to fill your stomach. And for snacks, remember to pick healthy treats such as fruits or low fat yogurt.

4. Allow Yourself Some Indulgence

By allowing yourself indulgence, we’re not saying that you can allow yourself to constantly cheat and eat all of the chips, cookies, or candy that you want to eat whenever you want. What we mean by Allowing yourself some indulgence is that you can fit in a cheat meal maybe once per week. This is an example of a smart way to just feel like you’re still living the good life. Don’t let yourself feel deprived. Also make sure that when you do a cheat meal that you plan it ahead of time and don’t make it turn into many meals… One meal should really mean one meal only, like a Sunday brunch having one piece of pizza and a little tasty sundae.

5. Fitness is Important

Of course your body needs to exercise and get moving if you want to burn more calories and get the greatest weight loss. But before starting a new fitness regimen, remember to start easy, warm yourself up, and get a good stretch for your muscles so that you avoid injury. But DO NOT LET THIS STRETCH turn into your only workout. Don’t lie to yourself that 20 minutes of stretching in front of the TV counted towards your workout. Good fitness choices include walking, jogging or bicycling. You can also swim of course for a workout that won’t beat your body up but a bit. Try to aim for twenty minutes each day at a bare minimum when you’re starting out. Then work up to thirty minutes. Then take it to bigger amounts of time as your time allows and as you get in better shape. Remember that your time is controlled by you. You are the boss of you. Make a daily report—a journal of sorts to keep your workouts in. Include in this your thoughts and how you felt after the workouts. There is a section in your profile that allows for this. You can also read other journals that have been published by other weightlosswars members here: http://www.weightlosswars.com/adventures.

6. Reward Yourself or Win a Reward

Once you’ve reached specific milestone goals, and especially once you reach your ultimate goal, be sure you reward yourself for doing something amazing. That doesn’t mean you have to reward yourself. You can also receive rich rewards by signing up for a competition on weightlosswars and winning the competition. Remember, once you’ve lost the weight, you’ve won a reward. You do owe it to yourself and you can feel great knowing it’s a well deserved reward. For example, once you’ve hit your first ten workouts, purchase a nice new gym outfit. Once you’ve lost ten pounds pick up that small, sexier dress you’ve been wanting. Losing weight means lots of hard work, dedication, blood, sweat and tears. Remember that you should pick up random rewards through the process. Use these rewards to make you feel good. You don’t just get the rewards for yourself; you’re also getting the incredible reward of keeping on track to being able to achieve the ultimate weight loss goal.

And of course, there are the rich rewards from competing in weight loss competitions on weightlosswars. These competitions come with inherent aspects of all these different tips. For example, you can make a realistic goal for your competition. Next, you get built in weight loss buddies. Next, you get the support from those weight loss buddies to know where the line is between healthy portion sizes and starving yourself. Additionally, you can help each other and reward each other with indulgences that may or may not involve food. Of course you can keep each other on track with fitness reports to each other in a competition. And the reward of winning a weight loss competition is an inherent benefit of more than half of all the competitions on weightlosswars.
