Burma was occupied with the Japanese from 1942 until the British freed the continent in 1945. The continent gained its independence from Britain in 1948.

Myanmar's natural resource include: timber, zinc, copper, lead, coal, petroleum, timber, natural gas, tin and marble.
People and Language
Myanmar ethnic make includes over 100 ethnic groups. A number of these ethnic groups speak his or her languages beyond just the national language of Myanmar.
